“ව්‍යවස්ථාව කාටද?” යන මැයෙන් ජුනි 22 දින (ආණ්ඩුක්‍ර‍ම ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධන පිළිබඳ මහජන අදහස් විමසීමේ කමිටු වාර්තාව පිළිබඳ ) සංවිධානය කොට සාමයික කේන්ද්‍රයේ ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේ පැවති මහජන සාකච්ඡාවේදී ආචාර්ය නිර්මාල් දේවසිරි පෙන්වා දෙන ලද වැදගත් අදහසක් වූයේ මහජනයාට දේශපාලන බලය ලැබෙන, දෛනික වශයෙන් ආණ්ඩුකරණ ක්‍රියාවලිය හැසිරවීමට හැකි රැඩිකල් ආකාරයෙන් රාජ්‍යය ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණය කරන වැඩපිළිවෙලකට ලංකාවේ දේශපාලන සහ ආර්ථික ප්‍රභූ තන්ත්‍රය ඉඩ නොදෙන බවයි.

Dr.Nirmal Devasiri expressed his views on “Constitution: For Whom ?” at the public discussion organized by ‘Citizens’ Council’ held on 22 June 2016 at CSR auditorium.
He made the significant point that the political and economic elites of Sri Lanka would by no means allow to reform the state radically so that the public is empowered with the political power and their participation in governance is strengthened.
